How necessary is it to keep HP Total Care Advisor running?

This is a program that I would like to remove from my startup programs if I could, but I don’t know if I need it or not. I have AdAware and AVG installed. Do I need to keep this running?

I have a HP Pavilion dv9000 Laptop with Windows Vista.

    that used to annoy me… disbled it, since i bought my pc.. works fine
