Yes, it only reports back to machine it is run from. But it needs to be set up on the servers program directory with only administrator rights

Check out the following commands in the AdAware help file:
+silent, +update, +nodefnotice

They will enable you to run the program behind the scenes!

There are several ways to run it on the workstations. You can put the program and it’s command line switches in a .bat file and put the .bat file in the “Startup” folder of the target computer(s) (under Start -> Programs -> Startup).

You can also use “Group Policy” if you have access to the group policy server.

You can also use Active Directory login scripts under each individual user in AD (you can also apply login scripts to groups).

Hello,

I think the answer here is both yes! & no!. To start with you’d have to install Adaware on each computer individually otherwise you would need a network aware version of the application.

**YES! you can definately load & launch adaware from a login script no problem.

**Wheather you could run adaware silently (unobtrusively) is another question, personally I doubte it. I think the answer here is No!

**if the machines are left running 24/7 then the answer might be, to run adaware at say 3am when nobody will be using the system (or when the office is closed). i.e. at a time of day that nobody will notice.
