How do I get Adaware SE Personal to download updates?

When I open this progam, I am prompted to check for updates as it has been 30plus days since I have last done so.
But when I do, it always tells me that the program could not download the updates. My internet connection is ok as it does not bother other programs.

i have a problem with my PC everytime i try and click on webpage from google i am redirected to alternative?
